About Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI)

The Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI), established in 2005 by the Ministry of Rural Development (MORD), is a pivotal organization dedicated to the socio-economic transformation of rural India with special Consultative Status in ECOSOC, United Nation.

Confederation of NGOs of Rural India or CNRI, as it is called, is the largest platform of NGOs in the country to enable them to articulate their aspirations or voice their views and suggestions for the progress and welfare of rural India. Over these years CNRI through its mouthpiece, Voice of Rural India, has taken up many issues. With the Government, the most important once being agriculture loan burden of the farmers, FDI in retail, non-dilution of Agriculture and Rural Livelihood in the WTO negotiations, opposition to the parochial tendencies of one of the leading political parties of Maharashtra, immediate visit to Nandigram (West Bengal) where atrocities had taken place including death of people on the issue pertaining to forcible land acquisition farmers to promote foreign investment zones and revamping of NREGS to provide for employment as well as long-lasting productive assets andso many more other issues.

The Alumni Association of PGDCBM – VAMNICOM

AADVAM (The Alumni Association of PGDCBM – Post Graduate Diploma in Cooperative Business Management) , with headquarter in the campus of VAMNICOM ,Ministry of Cooperation,Government of India is a network of cooperative officer graduates from the PGDCBM program at the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM). The association aims to foster connections between former students and the institute, providing a platform for professional networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration in cooperative business management. AADVAM reunites learned cooperative experts from PGDCBM VAMNICOM, which is now running its 58th batch since inception. Participants of this course have laid the foundation for cooperative management in India and South Asia, becoming a bedrock for the mission of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”.Merit-ranked officers from cooperative organizations are selected for this prestigious VAMNICOM course, which focuses on training, research, and development in the cooperative sector.

The alumni association plays a key role in supporting the institute’s objectives by engaging alumni in cooperative sector initiatives, encouraging them to contribute their expertise to rural development, and promoting cooperative business practices. It is a registered association under the patronage of renowned cooperative leaders such as Shri Dileep Sanghani, Chairman of IFFCO, and Shri Satish Marathe, founder of Sahakar Bharti.Whether residing in India or abroad, members can stay involved with AADVAM by engaging in dialogue on the cause of building a robust cooperative economic framework—globally and locally—to contribute to a sustainable, happy, and prosperous world.

AADVAM is inspired by the principle of RIGVEDA , oldest treatise of humanity , “Moving together in harmony; speaking together in one voice; letting our minds be in unison, as the almighty cooperated with each other for the common good.” With a network of around 1,500 cooperative officers in South Asia, AADVAM works diligently on the ideals of legendary cooperators such as the Iron Man of India, Sardar Patel, the founder of AMUL Tribhuvandas Patel, and visionary Vaikunth Mehta, who dedicated their lives to setting up the Indian Cooperative Economic Framework, even during British rule. Over the past three years, AADVAM has taken up various causes in the cooperative sector and is working on a vision of creating a producer-centric cooperative sector from PACS to APEX.Through various meetings and roadshows, AADVAM engages with youths and students , offering networking and mentorship opportunities. It has also taken up the responsibility of establishing 500 campus cooperatives in the next three years.”
