Samvedna Verma
Advocate | Director, World Cooperation Economic Forum (WCEF)

Where Law Meets Empathy, and Policy Becomes People-Centric.
Born in the ancient land of Magadha—modern-day Bihar, where empires once rose, and revolutions still stir—Samaveda Verma didn’t just inherit history; she absorbed its hunger for justice. From a place where every lane tells a story of struggle and every woman carries a world on her shoulders, Samvedna’s journey began not in ivory towers but in the everyday fight for dignity. Armed with a law degree and a restless conscience, she believes the law isn’t a luxury for the elite—it’s a lifeline for the last person in the queue. And so, Samvedna stood in farmers’ gatherings, women’s panchayats, and cooperative society meetings, turning legal jargon into people’s power. For her, advocacy isn’t about argument—it’s about access, agency, and action. She’s not just a lawyer by profession; she’s a people’s advocate by purpose.
As Director in the Board of the World Cooperation Economic Forum (WCo-oPEF), Samvedna is taking this mission global—championing legal reforms that put humanity at the heart of economics. From reshaping cooperative laws and governance of Agri-commodities to pushing for ethical trade and climate justice, she’s building frameworks where no voice is too small and no market too big to be held accountable.
Her leadership bridges village mandis and UN podiums, weaving together the power of grassroots cooperatives with the urgency of global policy. She’s redefining what it means to be a lawyer in our times—not just someone who interprets the law, but someone who dares to rewrite it for a fairer world.
Grounded in Bihar’s ethos, fired by the Magadhi spirit, and driven by a deep faith in cooperative economics, Samvedna Verma is a recipient of prestigious Lakshi Sehgal Award of CNRI 2024 which has been bestowed on her and a reminder that change doesn’t come from speaking louder, it comes from listening deeper, acting bolder, and never forgetting where you come from.
